Privacy Policy

Notara inc. operates JuriHub and is responsible for the personal information it processes for its own activities, including the public website, accounts, security, support, and general usage measurement.

Each client firm or organization remains responsible for the professional purposes for which it entrusts information to JuriHub. Notara normally processes the contents of its Files to provide the service under its instructions and the applicable agreements.

The public title of the person responsible at Notara is Privacy Officer. You can contact them at privacy@notara.ca.

The information varies depending on your relationship with JuriHub and the features you use.

• Account and access information, such as your name, professional email address, language, firm or organization, role, and information required for multi-factor authentication.
• Information submitted in an access request, support request, or feedback, and any attachment you choose to provide.
• Professional information contained in Files, including information about individuals, organizations, properties, financing, successions, communications, and notarial documents.
• Technical and security information, such as access dates, IP address, browser, device, errors, and significant operations recorded in logs.
• If you accept analytics cookies, information about public pages viewed, the general source of the visit, the browser or device, and the approximate frequency of visits.

We obtain information directly from you when you create or use an account, contact us, provide feedback, or use JuriHub.

We may also receive information from a firm, financial institution, public registry, service used by your organization, or another authorized user. The organization that has the direct relationship with the individual must provide the required notice when collecting the information.

We use the information necessary to:

• create and administer accounts, access, and roles;
• provide the features requested by firms, institutions, and their users;
• protect JuriHub, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and keep a record of significant operations;
• respond to support requests and improve the product based on feedback;
• meet our legal and contractual obligations;
• with your permission, measure visits to public pages and general website use.

JuriHub uses cookies and browser local storage. Essential cookies help protect and maintain a session, apply security features, and remember your analytics choice. They are necessary for the relevant features.

If you agree, Google Analytics measures visits to public pages and general website use. We do not use this measurement for advertising, remarketing, or session replay. JuriHub does not intentionally send File contents, entered values, or account, firm, or File identifiers to Google Analytics.

You can accept or refuse analytics and later change your choice at any time through Cookie preferences. Your choice is retained for 365 days. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes JuriHub’s Google Analytics cookies from your browser, without retroactively deleting information already processed.

We limit disclosures to the people and organizations that need the information for the purposes described in this policy.

• Google Cloud and Firebase provide hosting, storage, authentication, and security features.
• Google Analytics receives the analytics information described above only after you agree.
• The Québec Land Register’s SLRI service receives the information and documents required when an authorized user requests a registration operation.
• A firm, institution, or other authorized participant may receive the information required for a File according to its responsibilities and the features used.
• We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to respond to a competent authority.

JuriHub’s primary infrastructure is located in Canada. Some providers may nevertheless process information outside Québec or Canada, including to provide support, maintain security, or operate their services. Before entrusting personal information to them, Notara assesses privacy factors and governs the processing through appropriate safeguards and agreements.

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes, subject to applicable legal, contractual, and professional obligations. It is then destroyed or anonymized in accordance with applicable requirements.

The JuriHub session cookie normally expires after 12 hours. The cookie choice is retained for 365 days. When Google Analytics is enabled, detailed event data is retained there for two months.

Retention periods for accounts, Files, documents, logs, backups, and requests vary according to their purpose and the obligations of the responsible organization.

JuriHub uses administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted communications, multi-factor authentication, role-based access, organization separation, private storage, and logging of significant operations. No safeguard can eliminate every risk.

JuriHub does not make any fully automated decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on an individual. Some features may organize information or draw a professional’s attention to items for review; the decision remains human.

Subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, request eligible computerized information in a structured and commonly used technological format, withdraw an applicable consent, and make a complaint.

Contact the Privacy Officer at privacy@notara.ca. We may request the information required to verify your identity. We respond to applicable requests within 30 days of receipt.

When a request concerns information contained in a File administered by a firm, Notara may work with that firm to process the request according to each party’s responsibilities.

We publish the current version and its last-updated date on this page. When a material change may affect your rights or the use of your information, we will also notify you by email or in JuriHub when we have your contact information.
